May I make a suggestion? It may feel radically too simple. For context: As an ex health and wellbeing coach in public health (I have also made a 180°shift), I've had a long standing interest in mood and food. I've worked with doctors in the past and am aware of how little nutrition training they have.

My suggestion is to embrace, as part of your offer, a sapiens way of eating. See the book "why vegans have smaller brains..." amongst others. There is an increasing, grass roots led movement to reclaim our proper human diet. That is, to eat as our ancestors used to eat for thousands of years. Eating this way led to us developing big brains.

Just by eating to low carb, removal of seed oils and increasing good sources of fat, people are experiencing incredible improvements in chronic inflammation, oxidative stress and insulin resistance alongside coming off pharma meds. This is not what the establishment, governments, food and pharma want... healthy humans. It is the most powerful way to reclaim our health. And one of the most simple. We have been misinformed at every level of health. Lied to. I was duped too.

Most GPs are not even curious as to how people eating this way are reversing Type 2 diabetes, putting MS into remission and curing chronic conditions. Why is that, I wonder? I feel this is an opportunity for you too.

You made a wise decision. I see the same thing in the US. I used to want to be a doctor, I studied the “Pill Book” as a kid and knew the names and uses of many different drugs. People used to come to me before the doctor in high school and most of the time they just needed to drink more water! I started to see the limitations of being a doctor in my personal experience as a patient. By the time I got into the military I was medically injured and after being a guinea pig for experimental drugs most of my life, I realized that was not the answer. After I found Holistic medicine, which literally saved my life at 21, then I aspired to become a ND and got my bachelors degree in Health and Wellness as a premed degree. I loved studying research but could never figure out why patients couldn’t be helped in real time with it. Suffering from my own disabilities from this broken medical system and its drugs, “medicines” and vaccines, I wanted to make sure no one else suffered the same fate! At the point of graduation though, I found only 29 states actually licensed NDs and recognized them as actual doctors, even though they went through more extensive training than MDs in holistic and nutritional medicine. No insurance covered treatment from an ND either. Then, I had a long conversation with a retired orthopedic surgeon who told me that it takes 10-15 years for the most cutting edge research to be used in mainstream medicine! I couldn’t believe this! By then it’s not cutting edge at all! At that point, I didn’t want to become a doctor at all because I realized that they couldn’t properly even treat patients! I started getting my MPH months leasing up to the Covid-19 pandemic and studied the pandemic on the side while learning about US public health measures and the statistic were alarmingly flawed! I realized then that even the research was faulty and rigged in favor of treatment protocols that were not safe or effective but rather just provided job security to this dying medical system. I was very disappointed at that point when I tried to speak up about the dangers of this experimental shot that is now hurting and killing people. I also found the best way to help people was to encourage them not to rely on this medical system of emergency “medicine” as well. No medicine should ever hurt or kill anyone! In my degree program I learned that around the rest of the world, medicine is not a science but rather an art. It was also far more effective at treating patients than what is used here in the US! If you don’t treat the whole patient, you are not treating the person but rather just focusing on the disease which to me proved highly ineffective when I would see all the other issues people would suffer from, once one was treated. Another thing I noticed as I became friends with many practitioners was a belief that more interventions, lead to more interventions which is in fact not treating or healing the patient at all. One disease eradicated and one created. I noticed the medical system was a business model, rushing you through the mill. Doctors here in the US also have little to no time to treat patients and in some institutions like the VA, doctors cannot even do their job to help patients because of the high work load, little time one on one with patients and limited treatment options. Your observations are very valid and we see the same thing here in the US. I am glad you found a better path and holistic medicine is the only way to thoroughly and effectively treat patients. In my early 20s I had to become my own doctor and figure out my issues just to survive. I was permanently disabled by 21 and had to go against my beliefs to afford the proper medical care that I needed since it was not provided by MDs and treatments not covered by insurance companies either. I had even become poisoned at one point from dental with mercury toxicity with no accountability to the doctors who actually hurt me putting toxic substances in my body that I was also allergic to! We are the only ones who know our bodies and through a healthy lifestyle, nutrition and exercise, we can all reach greater heights in health and wellbeing. I am glad you decided to leave mainstream medicine and branch off on this quest for wellness because I think you will find that you can help a lot more people in a more effective way that is healthier for both you and your patients. I hope more doctors will step away and follow your lead because we need more medical professionals who can think outside the box, critically and stand up against this corrupt system that puts profits over patients health and wellness. Thank you for everything you do Dr. Cartland! Your patients are very lucky to have you in their side! With the knowledge you have as a medical doctor. It truly shows you care about your patients and that you put them over profits! I strongly believe food is medicine at this point in our country and so much more healing will come when people start to remove these toxic medicines and foods they put in their body. I firmly believe this toxicity is what is leading to the declining health around the world. This system has duped so many people into believing their medicine is the only medicine that works because it provides instant gratification but they don’t realize there are not long term health outcomes. Optimal health doesn’t come from quick fixes but rather changing the lifestyle choices that led to the disease in the first place. I believe in the innate healing capacity of the body and if it can engineer disease, it can reverse engineer it as well. The body is an amazing machine with so much untapped potential. I am just glad there are more practitioners like you exploring that untapped potential now! Keep up the good work! Thank you for all that you are doing to help create this paradigm shift in medicine.
